John Maher

An award winning and internationally published artist, John began his career when he was 16. His work has been collected and published worldwide, including books, advertising, magazines, and CD covers. His most recent images are about mystical journeys into the natural landscape. The work includes images of gardens, seascapes and river scenes. John lives in Mosier, Oregon, located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. He lives with his wife Patricia and their two cats and loves flyfishing, road trips and a good book.

Artist's Statement
Water is the subject of my recent work. I think it has a mystical quality that is irresistable. Both transparent and reflective, illusive and intangible, for me water is a metaphor for life.
My art is restful and meditative and at the same time thoughtful and engaging.
If you have an inquiring mind and look to both nature and art for insight into life's mysteries, we are on the same page. That inquiry is what my work is about. The answers are inside us.
